Three Rivers, MI-based Kadant Johnson has appointed of Bill Covell to the newly created position of R&D electrical, instrumentation, and controls specialist. In this role, Covell will modernize critical R&D systems with smart technologies to test and develop advanced designs. He will also be the controls and user interface lead for new product development programs.

Covell joined Kadant Johnson in 1996 in the Information Technology group. Covell has extensive systems and controls knowledge along with Kadant Johnson product experience. He previously led initiatives in smart connected products, remote diagnostics and prognostics, and controls development.

Kadant Johnson is a provider of rotary joints, precision unions, and fluid handling systems and equipment used to optimize the transfer of power, fluid, and data in rotary sealing applications found in process industries.

The company’s systems division specializes in the engineering, design, and supply of steam systems, controls, and related equipment used to manage steam and condensate flow. It also provides project management and remote monitoring to optimize steam energy utilization.
