Festo Group based in Esslingen, Germany, has appointed Oliver Jung as the family-owned global automation company’s new Chairman of the Management Board, effective Nov 1. Jung brings to Festo a wealth of experience from major internationally operating family-owned companies.

He has occupied executive management positions at Robert Bosch and Schmitz Cargobull, and most recently was chief operating officer at Schaeffler AG, with responsibility for overall production, logistics and purchasing. At the same time, he also managed Schaeffler’s Bearing Components and Technologies Division.

At Festo, Jung’s responsibilities will include “Corporate Management and Strategy.” The company’s owners as well as members of the Supervisory Board are confident that he will play a pivotal role in the further development of the company, the leading global supplier of automation technology and technical education, serving both the factory and process automation sectors.

With this appointment, Alfred Goll, who has served for the past two years as the board’s official spokesman, will focus on managing Festo’s Human Resources Department.
