Orion Engineered Carbons announced that effective June 1 it is increasing prices on all Rubber Carbon Blacks sold in North America.

“These prices increases continue the substantial investments in our North American Rubber Carbon Black production network essential to sustain continuity of supply,” said Chris Erickson, Orion’s Vice President, Rubber Carbon Black Business Line, Americas.

Due to increasing operating and logistic expenses and the costs required to maintain service levels, invoice prices for Rubber Carbon Blacks will be adjusted by an average of $121 per ton.

Orion’s range of Carbon Blacks include high-performance Specialty Gas Blacks, Furnace Blacks, Lamp Blacks, Thermal Blacks and other Carbon Blacks that tint, colourize and enhance the performance of polymers, plastics, paints and coatings, inks and toners, textile fibres, adhesives and sealants, tires, and mechanical rubber goods such as automotive belts and hoses.
