With panic buying of goods still an issue, the pressures placed on the supply chain and on food process manufacturers can be considerable.
That is why many companies are leaning heavily on accurate measurement tools to ensure that inventory is kept at sustainable levels.
“There’s a lot more food in peoples’ homes these days!” says Jenny Christensen of Binmaster. “My sister works in purchasing for one of the largest food companies in the world. She is working diligently (from home) with her supply chain, to keep her plants supplied with key ingredients.”
BinMaster has introduced a new 3D video (you can view it here) on some of its latest measurement technology that measures food ingredients in silos.
“Ingredients stored in silos are notoriously difficult to measure,” says Christensen. “Powders, granules, and other solids are prone to uneven distribution when added to or emptied from the silo during processing.”
It is the only sensor that measures more than a single point on the material surface, and gives food plants, grain elevators, and ingredient manufacturers a 3D image of what’s in the silo.
