Phoenix Contact Ltd. has announced the departure of its long standing general manager, Kevin McKenna.
McKenna – a native of Dublin, Ireland – joined Phoenix Contact immediately after immigrating to Canada in 1987, later being appointed to the position of general manager in 1996. He continued in that role until 2005, when he accepted the position of general manager for Phoenix Contact U.K. for a three-year period.
According to a company statement, “Kevin’s collaborative leadership style brings out the best in people and the company experienced a tenfold increase in sales revenues throughout his tenure at the helm. The company has expanded dramatically from its humble beginnings in Mississauga, Ont. and now has a national footprint across Canada.”
Headquartered in Milton, Ont., Phoenix Contact has sales and technology centres in Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver; and has been recognized as being among the Top 50 Best Workplaces in Canada no fewer than five times in recent history.
“The employees of Phoenix Contact sincerely thank Kevin for his caring and genuine commitment to all of them and his long term and loyal contribution in making Phoenix Contact a respected player in the Canadian market and a Great Place to Work,” continues the press release. “They want to thank him for generously and unselfishly sharing his time and wisdom with them.”
