Pilz Automation Safety Canada officially opened its new Canadian headquarters earlier this month and welcomed industry partners, colleagues and channel partners.

Susanne Kunschert, managing partner of Pilz GmbH & Co. KG, based in Ostfildern, Germany, represented the parent company and cut the ribbon with Andreas Sobotta, CEO of Pilz Canada.  Kunschert is responsible for human resources, finance/controlling, international sales, product management, marketing and customer support.

Replacing its former headquarters in Barrie, ON, the 5,300 square foot facility in Mississauga, ON, represents the next stage of the Pilz’s family investment into the Canadian market. The new facility boasts a training facility and laboratory.

The Canadian subsidiary of Pilz GmbH, a maker of safety automation equipment, offers worldwide integrated safety management from the simplest safety sensor to a complete plant risk assessment. Qualified consultants are available for worldwide services for risk assessment, safety concept, safety design, CE services, and safety sign-off, ensuring LEAN and safe concepts are implemented.

Pilz product lines include: safety relays for automation applications, safety PLCs, motion control systems, lockout/tagout systems, monitoring relays, rugged touch screen HMIs, emergency stop pushbuttons, safety sensors, two-hand enabling devices, electromechanical safety switches, light curtains, muting lamps, and SafetyEYE – said to be the world’s first safe camera system for 3-D zone monitoring.
