Norm Phelps has joined Plibrico as its new Vice President of Sales, bringing with him an extensive background in refractory products to the Atlanta, Ga. office.
“Norm is a seasoned leader and brings with him an uncommon blend of domestic and international refractory experience, a solid record of business growth, and a proven ability to deliver results,” said Plibrico President and CEO Brad Taylor. “I am excited to have Norm at the helm of our sales team supporting our customers and network of knowledgeable refractory distributors.”
During Phelps’ 18 years in the refractory industry he held sales and marketing positions of increasing scope and responsibility at Vesuvius and Zampell in the U.S. before moving to Europe to join Calderys as Global Market Manager responsible for the aluminum and boiler segments in 2011. In 2014, he took on the role of Business Development Manager, leading the Calderys expansion into North America, including the purchase and integration of Spar and the creation of Calderys U.S.A. Most recently, he served as General Manager for Calderys North America.
Phelps holds a degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State, and is a graduate of the Executive Development Program at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
