SMC Automation Canada Ltd. (formerly SMC Pneumatics [Canada] Ltd.) has been approved to change its business name by British Columbia and Nova Scotia effective immediately with other provinces pending approval.
“Our company name change to SMC Automation Canada Ltd. is a message to all domestic industries that SMC is not limited to pneumatics but is expanding our scope by developing new products such as: electric actuators, sensors, controls products and process equipment to support the mining, pulp & paper and other resource industries,” says Phil Boccanfuso, national manager of Canada sales.
SMC Automation Canada Ltd. is a subsidiary of SMC Corporation, located in Tokyo, Japan.
SMC Pneumatics (Canada) Ltd. was established in 1988 as the second North American subsidiary and is the third pillar within the North American SMC Group amongst SMC Corporation of America and SMC Corporation (Mexico), S.A. de C.V.
SMC Automation Canada Ltd. operates a network of five sales branches in Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, Windsor, and Vancouver supporting more than 50 distributors.
