Sterling Systems & Controls of Sterling, IL, has announced its new ability to test various powders and other bulk solid materials. With more than 18,000 ft2 of facility available, the company uses particle size reduction, feeding, dust collection and other process equipment to test bulk solids in static and pneumatic systems.

Testing bulk solid materials for density and flowability and other characteristics in bins and pneumatic systems is key to assisting Sterling Systems engineers in the effective custom engineering of weighing, batching, bulk bag handling and process control and automation systems for a wide variety of industries including feed mills, pet food manufacturing, food processing and production and rubber compounding.

The company has more than 45 years of experience providing efficient custom engineered and manufactured solutions for batching, micro, minor and bulk weighing, process and plant-wide control and automation, process equipment, bulk bag filling and unloading systems and bag dumping system. These custom designs utilize the latest technology to provide specialized data management, raw material management and production data tracking, the company says.
