An agreement has been reached on a North American free trade deal, with all three countries set to sign the agreement today.

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland will take part in a meeting and signing ceremony with U.S. trade czar Robert Lighthizer and their Mexican counterpart, Jesus Seade, in Mexico City this afternoon, according to the National Post.

The new deal is called the USMCA, an acronym for the three signatory countries.

“It’s nothing short of a miracle that we have all come together,” Lighthizer said, Bloomberg reported. “I think that’s a testament to how good the agreement is.”

“After working with Republicans, Democrats, and many other stakeholders for the past two years we have created a deal that will benefit American workers, farmers, and ranchers for years to come.”

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in Washington this morning that congressional Democrats were supportive of the changes, which paves the way for implementing legislation to finally be tabled in Congress.
