Volkmann appoints sales engineer to serve North American market

Westley Roy, sales engineer at Volkmann, will have responsibilities that include Canada.

Process equipment manufacturer Volkmann USA of Bristol, PA, has named Westley Roy sales engineer. A process chemist, Roy brings nearly five years of hands-on experience in bench chemistry, analytical lab work and process development with a global supplier of specialty chemicals and advanced materials for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, plastics, biotechnology, and other industries.

Roy joins a dedicated team of local representatives offering the company’s pneumatic vacuum conveyors and other process equipment throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

“We want to offer our customers a single point of contact who understands the technical nature of their applications as well as the engineering behind our conveyors,” says David Nichols, vice president of sales and marketing.

“His skillset and experience are ideal for serving our chemical and pharmaceutical customer base and for expanding our presence in North America.”

Volkmann designs and manufactures explosion-proof pneumatic vacuum conveying systems and companion auxiliary equipment to safely transfer powders, pellets, tablets, and other bulk materials from one point to another in a process. The company is the North American subsidiary of the family-owned Volkmann GmbH, Soest, Germany, founded in 1973.

Roy earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry from Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA, and the Hazardous Materials Technician certification from Bucks County Community College, Doylestown PA. He resides in Levittown, PA.
