Eriez has introduced its latest version of the Xtreme Vertical Form, Fill & Seal (VFS) metal detector. The compact unit requires no metal-free area above or below the sensing head, making it suitable for installation in the space-restricted area before the hopper and forming tube. Benefits include a 300 percent reduction in the metal free space constraints of previous models, eliminating the need for costly modifications and plastic hoppers.
With its innovative design, the metal detector connects directly to a customer’s existing stainless steel hopper and forming tube with simple Jacobs connectors, the company says.
Units are available in 3-, 4-, 6-, 8- and 10-in. aperture sizes. Total installation height requirements vary from 9.75 to 12.75 in., based on aperture size.
