L.J. Star has extended its MetaClamp and METAGLAS sight glass window technology with new LED lighting technology that is said to provide the industry’s strongest and most compact solution available for viewing inside tanks and vessels.
Improperly specified, installed or maintained sight glasses can represent the weakest link in a processing system. The wrong glass or materials used will limit observation, require extra maintenance and replacements, and even fail under pressure with catastrophic results – since glass can fracture at 5 miles/second.
L. J. Star MAXOS gauge glass is said to provide better visual clarity, required tolerances and greater chemical/thermal shock resistance and is manufactured exclusively to MIL G 16356-D standards – said to be the only gauge glass on the market to do so.
Metaglas from L. J. Star is a fused sight glass said to be proven in thousands of installations around the world. Unlike some other sight glasses, the company says, it uses borosilicate glass, rather than less durable similar glass material that doesn’t carry the same level of safety and performance certifications for extreme temperatures and pressures.
L.J. Star has announced the LumiStar series LED luminaires, suitable for process industry applications that require high intensity light that uses less energy and generates less heat. The series includes the LumiStar3000, LumiStar2000 and LumiStar1000.
L.J. Star has introduced MetaClamp sanitary sight windows as a resource for sight ports and light ports in processing applications or inline visual flow indicators. The device is said to be the strongest, safest, most reliable sight glass on the market today.
