One Quebec food manufacturer has been awarded $1.15 million to upgrade its cooling system and speed its manufacturing process.
“Deliwok is a business that is actively contributing to the economic vitality of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region,” says Richard Hébert, MP for Lac-Saint-Jean and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion. “I am proud that the Government of Canada is supporting innovative projects that translate into success for entrepreneurs and growth for the Canadian economy.”
The $1.15 million repayable contribution comes from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions. Specifically, the money will allow Deliwok to acquire state-of-the-art automated robotic equipment and carry out expansion and fit-up work. The project will generate a total investment of over $3.2 million.
Deliwok has been operating in the Chicoutimi area since 1997. The company specializes in the development and manufacture of food products, mainly Asian products such as egg rolls, spring rolls and breaded chicken, sold in bulk or retail.
