HARTING is raising the speed limit in industrial connectivity with the launch of the Han-Modular Gigabit Cat7A data transmission module for the world’s most comprehensive modular connector system. Incorporating the Gigabit Cat7A module into a Han-Modular connector as part of a Cat7 network unlocks the potential of ultra high speed Ethernet, making possible higher speeds over greater distances – for example, 10 Gbit/s up to 100 meters at an operating frequency up to 1,000 MHz. This next generation Gigabit Cat7A module connects at data rates of 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000 and 40,000 mbit/s, so using Cat7A (Class F) cabling with it supports existing high speed Ethernet applications while providing flexibility to incorporate future ultra high speed features without re-wiring.

The eight-contact Gigabit Cat7A module is well-suited for bandwidth intensive applications as well as in backbone connections – high speed data transfer between servers within a data center. It’s ideal for transmission of sensitive data. With this module in a Cat7 network, users get significantly better signal integrity and protection from interference than a Cat6 network provides.

Also new for Han-Modular, HARTING has added a Pneumatic Metal module with angled contacts and a three position Han-Modular Sliding Frame that targets the needs of motor control centers. The Han-Modular Pneumatic Metal Contact – Angled module features a right angle bend in the pneumatic contact for more design-in possibilities in space-constrained applications. The Sliding Frame, for a Size 16B housing, is a three-position docking frame with an integrated test position which also saves space, expense and installation time

With the Han-Modular system, HARTING introduced the user-configurable modular industrial connector and continues to add capabilities for more applications. Today, there are over 100 modules in the Han-Modular portfolio for power, signal, data transmission and pneumatics, giving users countless combination possibilities for creating application-specific connectors entirely from standard, catalogue components.
