Garmin unveils new Canadian HQ

Garmin Canada will be officially cutting the ribbon at its new Canadian headquarters in Cochrane, Alta., this morning.
“We’re honoured to call Cochrane home and we couldn’t be more excited to further invest in such a vibrant community,” said Jim Rooney, Managing Director at Garmin Canada. “What began as a small tech startup has blossomed and become part of a globally-recognized and trusted high-tech brand. We look forward to continuing to grow Garmin Canada by driving innovation and adding to our talented team of employees.”
Those attending the ceremonies will have the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in outdoor, fitness and wireless technologies, as well as being provided with a guided tour. Garmin Canada is also hosting a public open house tomorrow, Sept. 5 from 3-8 p.m. to give those in the surrounding communities a chance to see, firsthand, what the company does.
Garmin Canada Inc., formerly Dynastream Innovations Inc., and a subsidiary of Garmin, is a key site for research and development for Garmin and is the home of the ANT protocol used in millions of devices worldwide.  ANT is an ultra-low power (ULP) wireless networking application suited for any kind of low data rate sensor network topology in a variety IoT applications.
