Pepperl+Fuchs has collaborated with Yokogawa Electric Corporation to produce an intrinsically safe termination board for the completely redesigned CENTUM VP R6.01 Network-I/O devices. This latest project builds on a long-standing and successful partnership between the two companies.
A highly customized solution, the H-System termination board provides greater flexibility during installation, commissioning and servicing by providing direct mounting of the Yokogawa CENTUM VP modules for permanent wiring in the field without the need for a separate intrinsically safe module. This is particularly beneficial with the Network-I/O from Yokogawa, which enables wiring to be completed before the signal type for each channel has been established and allows an industry-leading 96 channels per row.
In addition, the 12.5mm HiC interface modules fit perfectly alongside the CENTUM VP modules and are automatically detected using an integrated ID. These integrated HiC modules easily snap onto the termination board and are “hot swappable,” allowing quick changes without any rewiring.
“We decided to work with Pepperl+Fuchs due to their extremely high level of expertise and innovative capacity in the field of intrinsically safe interface systems,” said Nobuaki Konishi, vice president of System Business Division for Yokogawa Industrial Automation Platform Business Headquarters.
The intrinsically safe termination board and all intrinsically safe barrier modules can be ordered from Pepperl+Fuchs sales offices.
