Monitoring system helps protect employees working alone The new Grace Employee Monitor (GEM) solves the problem of employees working alone or in remote areas who may be rendered unconscious ore incapacitated and have no way to call for help. The GEM system employs a small battery operated transmitting alarm unit that is worn by the employee which detects lack of motion. If a worker stops moving for up to 120 seconds (30, 60, 90 or 120 seconds) they are given a pre-alert for 8 seconds and then the alarm device emits a 95DB audio alarm and sends a signal back to the receiver (up to 3/4 mile line of sight). Use of a remote antenna and repeaters will allow the unit to cover any size facility. The receiver provides an audio/verbal/visual warning and has relay contacts that can activate local or remote alarms. An optional telephone dialer can call offsite to indicate that a worker is in trouble. The system is also available for mobile use with a cellular phone network or in remote areas, satellite telemetry is offered.

Emergency Breathing Supply System offers integrated rescue hose MSA’s ExtendAire II is an emergency breathing supply system (EBSS) option that uses intermediate pressure air to provide firefighters with another level of emergency air. The system allows firefighters to quickly and easily connect to and breathe from a fellow firefighter’s air cylinder. ExtendAire System II is tightly integrated with SCBA to provide unrestricted mobility as well as easy access during critical situations. The system uses a quick connect system with check valves to help ensure that both recipient and donor are not exposed to ambient air. The new ExtendAire II System offers an integrated rescue hose to be used with the PR14™ First-Stage Regulator with both male and female quick connect fittings. A waist pouch houses the hose and manifold that integrates with the carrier and harness assembly to avoid snagging and accidental opening. The ExtendAire II System also connects to the ExtendAire I System for additional connection locations.
