News Edmonton pipeline project

Enbridge received approval from the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission on their revised environmental impact assessment and issued a ‘certificate of need’ for the Line 3 pipeline replacement project.

As the last steps before construction, according to the Financial Post, these approvals mean that Enbridge can begin construction on the $9 billion, 390,000-barrel-per-day project.

The project is planned to replace the existing Line 3 running from Edmonton down to Wisconsin.

Enbridge will continue to work with U.S. State and Federal permitting agencies to finalize the permits required to start construction.
