Jo Ann Dizy, co-founder and CEO of #GrowTogether and of #MovetheDial fame, is headlining the 2023 Advance: Women in Manufacturing virtual event on March 2.

Her keynote presentation on, “How Mentorship and Sponsorship can Move the Dial in your Early Career,” will highlight the benefits of having mentors and sponsors in your professional networks to achieve career goals. Dizy will offer strategies to help participants obtain and maintain both relationships.

Dizy (above) will also touch upon the limitations to mentorship, and why your ultimate networking goal must be to develop sponsorship relationships.

“Having a mentor means finding someone who will give you insight, push your way of thinking, and give you tangible steps toward achieving your goals. Sponsors, on the other hand, provide opportunities, and pull you up to the next level,” explains Dizy, a skilled facilitator, coach, team builder and connector.

Her company #GrowTogether helps women learn, develop, and grow personally and professionally.

Previously, Dizy was vice president, Global Events & Partnerships, at #MovetheDial, where she drove business development, collaboration, and partnerships within the tech ecosystem, as well as ensuring #MovethedDial events were successful and beneficial to participants.

Prior to #MovetheDial, Dizy was executive director of Peerscale (previously AceTech Ontario). The backbone of this organization was #GrowthCircles, and she spent over 10 years researching best practices for these highly successful groups, and developing training programs, operational expectations, and facilitation techniques to provide high value to the C-suite members. The success of this program helped to grow the membership base from under 30 to over 225 during her leadership.

Join the virtual event at 1 pm ET March 2 to hear Dizy and other leaders from the Canadian manufacturing sector. The half-day virtual event, organized by Annex Business Media’s manufacturing group, will facilitate conversations about breaking barriers, advancing women into positions of their choice and #EmbraceEquity.
